On 9th October, add a royal touch to your creativity when you design your own beautiful bouquet at our newly opened Floral School followed by an indulgent Royal Afternoon Tea, all here in the heart of Mayfair at Number One Park Lane.
Our royal connection is unique, since InterContinental London Park Lane stands on the site of Her Majesty The Queen’s early childhood home, so we are delighted to introduce Moyses Stevens, creators of bespoke bouquets since 1876, to run our Floral Workshops with a royal theme.
The experienced team will take you into the wonderful world of floral design and whether you are a beginner or something of an expert you can craft your bouquet from the best loved colours and flowers of our favourite Royals:
• Queen Elizabeth
The colour blue, Hellebores, Lily of the Valley, blue flowers. Symbolising determination and purity, this bouquet includes lilies of the valley and hellebores. This elegant combination is paired with blue flowers, the Queen’s rumoured favourite colour, and marks the monarch’s fancy for flora and fauna perfectly.
• Duchess of Cornwall
Neutral tones and green; Alchemilla, British grown flowers. Inspired by Camilla Parker-Bowles herself, this bouquet is testament to her favourite colours and flower, alchemilla. Known for their exceptional beauty from their delicate foliage and neutral to green tones, they make the perfect addition to any bouquet.
• Duchess of Cambridge
The colour pink; Sweet Williams, Stocks, Myrtle. Including Kate Middleton’s favourite flowers, myrtle, stocks and sweet williams, this bouquet is centred around it’s bright fuchsia pinks and the Duchess’ love of the outdoors.
From the world of flowers, you continue in royal style to the Wellington Lounge to enjoy our Royal Afternoon Tea which celebrates the longest reigning monarch in the world, Her Majesty The Queen. Our menu blends together delightful contemporary touches and traditional elegant style with an array of fine finger sandwiches, light, buttery scones and delicate, melt in the mouth cakes and pastries; and, if you wish to put some fizz into the afternoon, add a tantalising glass of Champagne from one of the oldest Champagne houses, R de Ruinart.
With floor to ceiling windows, contemporary design and plenty of soft comforts, The Wellington Lounge is the ideal space to take time out for a peaceful royal inspired afternoon tea whilst the buzz of London carries on in full view outside.
